At Titus Mountain Family Ski Center, we have always prided ourselves on being a family friendly mountain. That means a little something for everyone, including terrain parks. We have been lucky enough to have terrain park crews that, over the past 4 years, have raised the bar for not only mountains our size, but for the industry in general.
The late start to this season has just naturally created a lot of carping & hand-wringing among those of us who are eager to feed our hunger. Fortunately, the last couple of weeks have brought welcome relief as Mother Nature has finally decided to come to the party with colder temperatures & some of her own homebrew too.
Ah, the smell of Autumn. It means lots of things in the ski industry… from the return of Old Man Winter to the literal “crunch” we can hear in our calendars as we prepare to get the lifts turning. But one of the best parts about Autumn before the snow starts to fly? Ski Show season! For Titus Mountain, it means heading out to Toronto, Ottawa, and Albany to meet up with some of our favorite fans to meeting new ones. With Toronto just around the corner, we thought it might be fun to give some of our fans who we plan on seeing at the ski shows some insider tips!
What makes someone a veteran Mucker? Because of the obstacles on the course, the accomplishment of the finish, and the comradery between runners, a veteran Mucker is anyone who has completed at least one Mud Run at Titus Mountain! We decided to interview one of those veterans to give newbies (and other veterans) a different perspective than our own. After all, we might be a little biased over our race!
The past week at Titus Mountain has been anything but ordinary; we’ve been the epicenter of probably the largest national news event of the North Country since the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid. As the Director of Marketing here, I watched my news feeds, press alerts, and phone lines burst with activity as local and national news outlets scurried to get the breaking news on escaped convicts Richard Matt and David Sweat.
