"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children."
While ski season might be over on the East Coast, it’s never too late (or too early) to read up on some ski tips. And in honor of Earth Day, how about some sustainable skiing advice? Many ski resorts are making strides in becoming more environmentally friendly, so let’s do our part as well!
It's as simple as that. We want to thank everyone who made the 2017-2018 season a success. There were definitely some ups and downs, but at the end of the day we had 101 ski days, lots of fun, we learned some stuff along the way, and we made many new friends!
Pro Skiers Andy Parry and Khai Krepela to Stop at Titus Mountain as Part of the “Tell a Friend” Tour
Pro skier and member of the Line Ski Team, Andy Parry, as well as X Games Real Ski Athlete Khai Krepela will be at Titus Mountain this Saturday as part of the Newschoolers’ Tell A Friend Tour.
The Tell A Friend Tour (TAFT) is a freeskiing park tour that travels to resorts to film, ski with fans, and hold a free raffle/pizza party.
It’s hard to believe that another year is about to come to a close and the start of another ski season is under our belt. It feels like just yesterday we were saying hello to old friends at Oktoberfest or even watching the last of the snow melt on The Face this past June.
Whether we are ready for it or not, 2018 is less than 36 hours away as we write this post. As with any new beginning, we are forced to pause and reflect on the days that have gone by. And as we reflected, we found that a lot of great things happened on the mountain this year. It’s been a whirlwind year to say the least and it makes us excited for things to come.
So, what transpired in 2017?
Titus Mountain Family Ski Center debuts as the #1 family-friendly ski area in North America in Liftopia’s 2017-18 Best in Snow awards announced today. The Northern New York resort also earned the title of third best beginner-friendly ski area in North America.
To Our Canadian Friends,
Happy 150th birthday Canada! We hope that you enjoy your holiday weekend and this milestone celebration.
In upstate New York, we have a strong orientation overall to the north vs. to the south. Many times, as we explain to our stateside friends where Malone, NY is, “near Canada” usually always enters the description. We have a bi-national bond here that can be seen daily, whether through familial ties to the north or Canadian tourism in our region.
Malone, NY – Taco Bell/KFC of Malone has become the official sponsor of Titus Mountain Terrain Parks, known as Moon Valley Parks in the terrain park community. The sponsorship will help to create an elevated park experience for skiers and riders to enjoy at Titus Mountain Family Ski Center.
Whoever decided that the middle of winter was the best time for a holiday all about romance wasn’t in their right minds. For those lucky enough to have that special someone, there’s just something not so romantic about runny noses and chapped lips. And for the singletons out there, you’re already aware that you crave snuggling up to someone in the cold winter months. You don’t need a reminder.
However, through all the pains that is Valentine’s Day, there is no better place to spend your day than on the slopes. From being in the midst of a budding romance to being in a happily committed relationship, here is how you make the most of V-Day on the slopes.
Three local athletes will be participating in the upcoming Slopestyle and Big Air Events at Titus Mountain as part of the 37th Annual Empire State Winter Games. Daniel Badgley, Tucker Lawrence, and Jason Stepnoski will all represent Titus Mountain Family Ski Center this Friday for the Big Air competition and Saturday for the Slopestyle competition.
“We are a family mountain who exists because of support from our local community,” said Zachary White, general manager of Titus Mountain. “It feels good to give back to some of the members of our community who have called Titus Mountain their home for years.”
It’s a tradition that has been happening on the slopes of Titus for over 35 years—the annual Oktoberfest. You might have seen the posters or heard from a friend or saw the event on Facebook. You might have thought “what a great idea” or “I wish I had gone” or “that event might not be for me.”
Whatever you have though in the past, focus on this thought: we want YOU to attend Oktoberfest. Here’s why:
